Bromley were knocked out by EFL Blackpool in the First Round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday, losing 2-0 at the REL0C8 EM Community Stadium.

Blackpool flexed their League One muscles with seconds on the clock as Owen Dale volleyed over inside the first minute.

The Seasiders continued to attack and it wasn’t long before they received their just rewards when Shayne Lavery blasted home from close range via the crossbar.

It was Karamoko Dembele’s turn to attack the Bromley goal as he saw a deflected effort land wide of the post.

Kenny Dougall also had a good first half for the travelling side and he too saw a strike fizz wide.

Up the other end and Corey Whitely tried his luck from outside the box, but it was comfortable enough for Rich O’Donnell to handle.

Dale was at it again on 24 minutes when he curled an effort wide before Blackpool did eventually net their second as Dembele calmly slotted home from close range.

Byron Webster poked a chance wide with 10 minutes of the half remaining before Shayne Lavery tried to stretch the visitors’ lead to three going into the break, but his effort didn’t trouble Grant Smith.

Olufela Olomola was one of two changes at the break and caused problems for Blackpool in the second 45. However, it was Deji Elerewe who almost pulled one back, firing from range on 50 minutes.

A Webster ball over the top was expertly touched down by Ben Krauhaus to set up Olomola who curled wide moments later.

The Bromley number 29 was in the thick of it again as he almost latched onto an excellent Bes Topalloj ball.

Cheek had a glorious chance to pull one back late on as he blasted wide from close range as Blackpool managed to prevent an upset.

Up next for Bromley, a trip to Boreham Wood in the Vanarama National League next Saturday.
