Bromley fell to a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Woking at Hayes Lane in a disappointing night for the Ravens.

It was the hosts who had the first real attempt of the game. Michael Cheek received the ball in the opposition’s penalty area but toe poked his effort wide.

In a half of few chances, Padraig Amond rattled the crossbar following a sumptuous through ball by James Kellermann, with Tom Smith completely beaten. As the first 45 was reaching the half hour mark, Omar Sowunmi made a darting run towards the wing, crossing for Ethan Coleman who forced Craig Ross to get down low only for the offside flag to go up.

As the half was coming to an end, Josh Casey produced a delightful cross to which was met by Amond whose powerful header was brilliantly saved by Smith, who got down to his right hand side.

The second half commenced, with Sowunmi producing a last ditch challenge on Ricky Korboa preventing a certain shot on target for the visitors. In the 57th minute, following a Woking corner, Reece Grego-Cox took advantage of a loose ball and slammed the ball into the back of the net from close range.

In the 68th minute, Cheek’s downward header forced Ross to palm the effort away in Bromley’s best chance of the second half so far. Shortly after, a signature Chris Bush long-throw found Sowunmi who headed just over the bar.

In the 72nd minute, Cheek’s shot from distance forced Ross to save, only for Adam Marriott to follow up on the effort and be denied by Woking’s keeper again. As the game was reaching its latter stages, Grego-Cox slid the ball to Rhys Browne, with Smith coming off his line, Browne made no mistake and gave Woking a 0-2 lead to round off the scoring.
