The opening half was full of chances for both sides with the first falling Michael Cheek’s way. After a brilliant ball in from Harry Forster, the Bromley number nine flicked it into the gloves of Sam Slocombe.

Cheek was in the thick of it again after a fantastic pass from Billy Bingham meant the striker could round the ‘keeper, but his resulting effort was well blocked.

The missed chances proved costly as Notts opened the scoring on 15 minutes after a ball is fizzed in towards the back post by Ruben Rodrigues for Adam Chicksen to bury from close range.

The league’s top scorer Macauley Langstaff almost added to his impressive tally, blazing a shot over from inside the box before an effort from a tight angle was well dealt with by Tom Smith.

The Bromley ‘keeper was called into action again soon after, denying a brilliant effort from Cedwyn Scott.

Smith’s opposite number then kept the scores at 1-0 denying Forster after a defensive error before Bingham’s deflected shot also forced a great save.

Another glorious chance fell Cheek’s way on 36 minutes after another Forster cross found the diving head of the number nine, but his effort was expertly saved by the Notts stopper.

Rodrigues then smashed an effort against the post in the latter stages of the first 45, but his missed effort meant the scores remained 1-0 going into the break.

Smith was called into action a few more times in the second half, first denying Matt Palmer from range before Langstaff raced through on goal, only to be stopped in his tracks by the Bromley ‘keeper who rushed off his line.

Smith then saved a Rodrigues strike just after Langstaff saw his effort cannon back off the bar.

The Ravens piled on the pressure themselves and eventually equalised after Reece Hannam’s lofted ball was headed home by Cheek.
