Bromley secured a point on the road on Tuesday night as they drew 0-0 away at Oldham Athletic in front of 38 travelling Ravens.

The visitors began on the back-foot when Sai Sachdev saw a cross blocked by the Bromley back-line before Joe Garner forced Grant Smith into a smart save with just five minutes on the clock.

The Bromley number one was called into action again moments later, getting down to his left to deny Garner for the second time in four minutes.

Up the other end and the visitors had a chance of their own when Ben Krauhaus rolled the ball out to the left, finding Corey Whitely on the flank. Saturday’s match winner floated in a cross which was met by the diving Michael Cheek who could only head over the bar.

Cheek was at it again on 20 minutes when Josh Passley lofted a brilliant free-kick into the box and the Bromley number nine nodded wide. However, it wouldn’t have counted anyway as the linesman’s flag was already raised.

Oldham started the first half on top, but it was Bromley who began the second on the front foot. Just seconds after the restart, Olufela Olomola found Whitely charging forward before the number 18 blasted high and wide from a tight angle.

With 20 minutes remaining, Cheek pulled the ball back for Ashley Charles who fired hard and low from the edge of the area. Via a deflection, the former Wealdstone man’s effort could only find the advertising boards next to the goal.

Moments later and Krauhaus went on a fantastic run, using his strength to glide past the defence before finding Olomola who set up Whitely. However, Sachdev put in a fantastic sliding tackle to deny an opener.

With the clock ticking, Bromley continued to press and Krauhaus was in the thick of it again. He again found Olomola who this time took the effort himself, but his shot glided over the bar as it look to bobble as he made the connection.

That proved to be the final real chance of the game as neither side could break the dead-lock.
