Bromley Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Zech Medley on loan from Sky Bet League Two side Fleetwood Town until the end of the season, subject to EFL and FA approval. The 25-year-old began his career in the academy of Premier League side Chelsea, before making the move across London to Arsenal ahead of the 2016/17 campaign. Medley remained with the Gunners until the end of the 2019/20 season, during which time he made three senior appearances. Two of those came in the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League. Medley featured for 40 minutes in a 3-0 victory over Ukrainian side Vorskla Poltava, partnering former Arsenal defender and current Bromley player Carl Jenkinson at the back. The pair were reunited two weeks later in a 1-0 win against Azerbaijani outfit Qarabag, with Medley coming on as a substitute for goalscorer Alexandre Lacazette. Next up for Medley was a loan move to Medway, as he joined Gillingham, who operated in League One at the time. The defender gained valuable EFL experience, before heading north to Scotland to ply his trade in the Scottish Premiership for Kilmarnock, alongside Mitch Pinnock and Nicke Kabamba. During his time in East Ayrshire, he made eight league appearances and scored his first senior goal in a 1-1 draw with Dundee United. After returning briefly to Arsenal, Medley moved to Belgian side Oostende on a permanent deal in 2021, where he spent three seasons before returning to England. The left-footed defender put pen to paper in July 2024 when he signed for Fleetwood Town on a permanent deal, but he ruptured his achilles in August in a goalless encounter against his former club Gillingham, which sidelined him for several months. Medley made his return to action in April 2025, featuring in all three of the Cod Army’s final league fixtures of the season. He has carried that momentum into the current campaign, making 28 appearances across all competitions and scoring four goals, including an 85th minute winner against Gillingham in December. Medley will wear the number three shirt. Welcome to BR2, Zech!
