Academy Update from Mark Hammond

  • Academy

It’s been a busy few months behind the scenes as work continues in preparation for the new Academy so we thought who best to give us an update than Mark Hammond, Academy Director.

After hosting several Bromley Football Club Academy trials, I’m pleased to announce our Academy staff have finalised and secured the places for the 2016-17 scholarships.

Those fortunate enough to become Academy players will look to progress their footballing ability and knowledge whilst also having the opportunities to gain educational sporting qualifications.

I’m also delighted to announce that Tom Beaumont will be joining the Academy staff team. Tom joins from Ravens Wood secondary school and will be the Academy lead education tutor, Academy coach and the under 16s coordinator. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new position and everyone at the club wishes him a  warm welcome.

As previously stated, the Academy home will be relocating to The Warren in Hayes. This outstanding facility will be hosting ou education, training and match-days throughout the academic year. However, before the education and football season commences, the new cohorts will get to experience a comprehensive and intense pre-season training programme with fixture against The SEFA Academy, Fulham FC, Gravesham Borough and Erith Town. The Academy education and performance strategies, new staff structure and full pre-season fixture schedule will be announced shortly.

Finally, there are still limited Academy spaces available depending on playing ability and GCSE entry requirements. Email mark@bromleyfc.co.uk for more details.

I look forward to sharing further updates with you shortly.

Academy Director
