Bromley made it 3 wins in a row thanks to goals from Ben May, Moses Emmanuel, and Bradley Goldberg to take a 3-2 win away from Meadow Park on Tuesday night.

It was a cautious start from both sides as neither club looked to capitalise in the opening minutes of the game. Boreham Wood had home advantage and was looking settle scores from last season against Conference South Champions Bromley. The first real chance of the game fell to Bromley as Ben May’s right footed shot from outside of the box was saved by Preston Edwards. Bromley continued their spell of pressure and moments later it was Bradley Goldberg’s turn to test the keeper as another with another shot from outside the box was blocked. It took 17 minutes until Boreham Wood had their first real chance, Conor Clifford attempted a shot from outside the box with his right foot which cracked the outside of the woodwork and was collected by the Bromley defence. Boreham Wood had to alter their game plan with a forced substitution as Ben Nunn was brought on for Dan Woodards who was unable to continue following a leg injury. The deadlock was broken on the 31st minute when the ball was crossed in to the middle of the box and on to the right foot of Ben May who powered home the opening goal of the game and putting Bromley in to the lead. Bromley continued to press for a 2nd but despite further chances in the 1st half neither team was able to add to the score line.

Bromley started the second half as well as they ending the first and with 53 minutes gone Moses Emmanuel headed the ball in to the back of the net from close range thanks to the assistance of Rob Swaine. The goals continued to flow in the second half as Boreham Wood began their fight back 4 minutes later as Scott Doe’s shot from outside the box found its way in to the bottom corner, bringing the score line back to 2-1. However, the fight back was stopped in its tracks as Moses Emmanuel was there to assist with Bromley’s 3rd. Moses passed the ball through the Boreham Wood defence and on to the feet of Bradley Goldberg whose right footed shot went over the top of the keeper and in to the top right corner of the net to the jubilation to the traveling fans.

Boreham Wood threw everything they could at Bromley in the remaining 27 minutes of the game, but Bromley’s defensive game proved to strong until the last kick of the game in the 94th minute when Billy Clifford crossed the ball in to Bromley’s box where Junior Morias was waiting to fire home his left footage shot in to the bottom left hand corner.

As the ball was placed back on the centre spot to kick the game off again the referee blew the whistle for full time.

Bromley fans deserve a special mention with over 120 traveling to North London and nearly doubling the attendance. The fans never stopped singing throughout the entire game.
