Bromley travel down to Torquay this Saturday hoping to continue momentum following Tuesday’s 3-2 victory over Boreham Wood.

As you may or may not know, Bromley and Torquay have played each other before first in November 1951 where Torquay won 3-2 in the F.A Cup first round. The most recent was last season where Bromley travelled to Plainmoor in January this year for the 2nd round of the FA Trophy where Bromley was then beaten 4-0.

In 2003-2004 Torquay won promotion to League One, but this only lasted for one season as the team finished 21st in the table with 51 points. They were only relegated on goal difference as Milton Keynes Dons finished with minus 13 goal difference compared to Torquay’s 25.

Torquay was then relegated from League Two first in 2007 and then last of all 2014. This season, they are currently 18th in the Vanarama National League having Won 2, Drawn 4, and Lost 4.

By Car

At the end of the M5 follow the A38 and then turn left onto the A380. On reaching Kingskerwell, take the first exit at the large roundabout (where there is a McDonalds & Sainsburys on one side) onto the A3022 towards Torquay.

After one mile, turn left towards Babbacombe (signposted Babbacombe (A379)). After one mile, turn left into Westhill Road and continue forward to Warbro Road. Torquay United AFC is signposted on nearing the ground. There is street parking around the Stadium.

By Train

The Stadium is over two miles away from the main Torquay railway station and so a taxi (around £5) may well be in order. Torre station (one stop before Torquay station but not all trains stop there) is closest to the ground. Walk up the hill opposite the station and it’s around a 20-25-minute walk.

If you have time on your hands, then you can walk to the Stadium from Torquay station in around 40 minutes: On leaving the station, turn left into Rathmore Road. Follow the road down crossing into Falkland Road.

Proceed by way of Lucius Street and Tor Hill Road into Union Street. Take the St. Marychurch Road and climb the hill towards Babbacombe, then take the third turning on the right into Bronshill Road. The floodlights of the Launa Windows Stadium will be visible after a few minutes on the left.
