Goals from Louis Dennis and Michael Cheek helped secure a 2-1 win over Southend United at the RELOC8 EM Community Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Ravens came close with 10 minutes on the clock as a Ben Krauhaus cross was flicked narrowly over by a Southend head.
Grant Smith was on hand to produce more good saves throughout the game and he was first called into action on 17 minutes when a Jack Bridge corner was turned towards goal.
It would be the hosts who broke the deadlock as Dennis, who scored at Roots Hall last season, pounced on a defensive mistake before poking the ball past the Southend ‘keeper and slotting into an empty net.
After a slight delay to the second half due to a broken corner flag, the Ravens started brightly in the final 45 as Dennis picked out Ben Krauhaus who fired a shot over the bar from the edge of the box.
Southend responded with a counter-attack and forced Byron Webster into some fantastic blocks before Bromley extended their lead as Cheek cut inside before slotting into the back of the net.
The two-goal lead lasted only minutes as Noor Husin bagged for the visitors. Dennis, hunting for his second, saw an effort saved before Southend continued to pile on the pressure.
Smith made a brilliant save to deny Jack Wood in the latter stages as the Ravens held on to clinch their first three points of the season.
