The first weekend of 2023 saw our Youth Academy kick-start their new year of fixtures.
Starting with our U12 Boys, they faced a tough test when coming up against a physical and aggressive Dartford side. Maliki and Darren netted for the Ravens, but unfortunately, couldn’t clinch a win, losing 4-2.
However, our U13 Boys did pick up maximum points as they made the trip to Beaconsfield, coming from a goal down to win 4-1 thanks to goals from Hayward, Williams, Powers and a penalty from Hassan.
Our U14s Girls also enjoyed a winning weekend, beating Grays Athletic 3-1 with special shout-outs going to Lilia Fikry and Lucy Chapman who both put in Player of the Match performances.
As for our U14 Boys, they beat Beaconsfield 6-1 at home. They started the game slowly but eventually controlled the tempo. Harry Ejje bagged a hat-trick whilst Danas Jonikas netted a brace with Tyler Persad also finding himself amongst the scorers. Defender Ashton Bignell put in a Player of the Match performance to top off a fantastic day of football.
Beaconsfield were opponents again when our U15 Boys returned to action. The Ravens found themselves 2-1 up at one point, but lost 5-2 away from home. Special shout-outs go to Freddie Sinclair, Feranmi Dada and Myles Gray who put in fantastic performances.
Going back to our Girls and the U16s beat Sudbury 4-0 thanks to a Rosie Rowe brace alongside goals from Freya Salkeld and Matilde Lopes. Aswell as the scorers, Emilie Evans also put in a brilliant performance.
Our U16s Boys also bagged four when they hosted Beaconsfield thanks to goals from Matt Burjak, Charlie Paye and a Casey Hewitt brace to keep up their side’s good form.
Well done to all of our sides and a thank you to Glemnet and Group LK for their continued sponsorship.
