Bromley FC supports White Ribbon Day

Bromley FC is showing their commitment to ending men’s violence against women and girls during the 16 Days of Action as part of the White Ribbon Day Campaign.

This Saturday, our staff and players will be wearing White Ribbons in support of White Ribbon Day, the internationally recognised campaign where men show their year-long commitment to ending violence against women and girls.

Bromley FC’s support of White Ribbon Day is part of an important shift happening across sports, where sexist and misogynistic attitudes are no longer being tolerated – whether that’s in the stands, on the pitch, or in changing rooms.

White Ribbon UK is the leading charity engaging men and boys to stop violence before it starts through personal reflection and allyship with women and girls. This White Ribbon campaign, they are asking individuals, especially men, to #ChangeTheStory for women and girls so that they may live their lives free from the fear of violence.

The campaign highlights the importance of consistent action by men to challenge pervasive attitudes and behaviours that lead to violence, including extreme instances of violence in our society.

Her Game Too Club Ambassador, Georgie Weaver shares “As a football club, it is so important that we support this campaign, to show that across staff, players and fans, we stand against violence towards women and girls.

It is also an ideal opportunity to highlight how supporters can report any misogyny and sexism that they hear or experience at games, to change some of the culture that we see in society and in sport.”

To show our support of the campaign all Bromley FC players, including the men’s, women’s and Bromley Belles will wear the ‘White Ribbon’ armband during this weekend’s fixtures.

To show your support of the campaign we would ask you to join Bromley FC players, including Captain Byron Webster and Callum Reynolds, as well as Andy Woodman, who have taken the White Ribbon Promise, to never use, excuse or remain silent about men’s violence against women.
