The Club are delighted to announce that Andrea Ellis, founder of the Bromley Belles, has won December’s National League Volunteer of the Month award.
Andrea has almost single-handedly founded the Bromley Belles, the Club’s recreational women’s team. Through a clear passion for football and the women’s game in particular, she started the Bromley Belles scheme that now has a core of regular attendees.
Her work has helped the Club to receive funding for the project from The National League Trust; money which will help the Club progress, with support of a qualified coach, pitch hire and equipment.
This is all down to Andrea’s groundwork and has given many women over the age of 30 an opportunity to take part in a social and sporting activity which had previously been missing in the local community.
Upon receiving the award, Andrea commented; “I just want to thank Bromley FC for all their support and for nominating me for this award, which I’m extremely proud to receive. It’s been great to see so many women, either beginners or those returning to the game playing and enjoying football every week.”
Everyone at Bromley Football Club would like to congratulate Andrea on winning this award, and thank her for the hard work she has put in to build up the Bromley Belles!
