Cheltenham Festival Friday Racecards – provided by a guest contributor

Triumph Hurdle

2 miles (Grade 1)

This is all about Sir Gino, you won’t get rich, but Nicky Henderson’s charge should take the world of beating. He bolted up in the trial in January and anyone with a stopwatch will have him not only as a banker on Friday, but Henderson’s banker of the meeting.

County Hurdle

2 miles (Grade 3)

Iberico Lord is interesting and could see Nicky Henderson land a quick-fire impressive double. We need the rain to keep on coming, anything soft will give us a bigger chance of landing a nice bet around 9/1.

Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle

3 miles (Grade 1)

Well, I am pretty sure this is going to Ireland, I’m also confident that it will be Willie Mullins in the winner’s enclosure, but with which of his runners? Reading Tommy Wrong, Dancing City and High Class Hero all have BIG chances. Preference is going to be for Dancing City who really impressed at Leopardstown.

Gold Cup

3 miles 2 furlongs (Grade 1)

You won’t get rich on these prices, but Galopin de Champs is a banker, the only way you can see Willie Mullins’ star getting beat is falling. He gallops and possesses a great turn of foot a genuine star of the equine world.

Foxhunter Steeple Chase

3 miles 2 furlongs (Class 2))

The Foxhunters is wide open, but I like the look of Premier Magic, Bradley Gibbs runner ticks all the boxes and sure to give a good account, a 66/1 winner last year at the festival, this classy chaser went straight in my notebook and showed it was no fluke hacking up by 17 lengths next time.

Mares’ Chase

2 miles 4 furlongs (Grade 2)

Taking on odds-on favourites sent out by Willie Mullins is quite often a quick route to the poor house, but I just feel Dinoblue is beatable, Allegorie De Vassy from the same stable can turn over the favourite, she ran well at last year’s festival finishing runner-up in the Mrs Paddy Power, quite often a bridesmaid, she can be the bride here and cause a minor shock.

Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle

2 miles 4 furlongs (Class 2)

Get on No Ordinary Joe. I am banking on several other runners in the list, chasing other targets. Nicky Henderson can start the day and end the day with a winner.

Our doors will open at 12pm for you to enjoy a day of festive Irish Music, Cheltenham Horse Racing and some FREE bar snacks with a Guinness to wash it down. Our Kitchen will also be open all day to grab a bite to eat.
