This coming weekend sees Bromley embark on the first of four consecutive away fixtures.
The first is seemingly the most daunting, as the Ravens travel to Devon to play Torquay United on Saturday, with the Vanarama National League fixture being shown live on BT Sport, kick-off 5.20 pm.
It was back on 10th October that the home match was played, and Torquay scored three minutes into added time at the end of the game, to record a 2-1 victory at Hayes Lane.
Since topping the table, building up a ten point lead at one point, The Gulls then trailed the leaders by ten points at another after a run of poor results. An unbeaten run of nine games have seen Torquay return to pole position just ahead of Sutton who have a game in hand.
Bromley have visited Plainmoor on five occasions, losing three of the games and winning two. The first time was on 24 November 1951 when they lost a closely fought FA Cup tie against their Football League opponents 3-2 which was followed by a 4-0 FA Trophy defeat on 10 January 2015.
Bromley’s first visit in the National League was on 19 September 2015, resulting in a 7-3 victory for the Hayes Lane Club, but almost a year later Torquay claimed a single goal victory on 9 August 2016.
Bromley completed the double on their last visit on 20 January 2018 with a 4-0 victory, having won the corresponding fixture by 3-1 at Hayes Lane.
Last season’s fixture was scheduled for 4 April but was a victim of the League curtailment.
Last time at Plainmoor…
The Ravens last took on Torquay at Plainmoor in 2018, as goals from Louis Dennis, Adam Mekki, Luke Wanadio and Josh Rees secured a huge away win during our FA Trophy Final season.
