Bromley 4-0 Whitstable Town KSC

  • Men's

With players returning from injury and a lack of games in the coming weeks, Bromley fielded a strong team against Whitstable Town for this Kent Senior Cup fixture.

Both teams met only last week at Whitstable but a floodlight failure after just 16 minutes of football and the same fixture being postponed just a week before that, led to the Kent FA confirming the fixture would now need to be played at Hayes Lane.

Both Alex Wall and Bradley Goldberg returned from injuries to lead the strike force for this match. The only other changes to the starting XI was Paul Rodgers starting on the right wing, and Reece Prestedge teaming up with Minshull in the centre.

Bromley dominated the game throughout and it was Alex Wall who put Bromley ahead after just 9 minutes with a great strike from around 20 yards out in to the bottom corner. The lead then doubled on the 27th minute with Alex Wall stepping up to take a superb free kick from around the same distance he scored his first. The ball took a slight deflection from the Whitstable wall which left the keeper stranded and despite his best efforts, Eason could only help tip the ball into the roof of the net.

10 minutes in to the second half saw Alex Wall get his first hat trick for the club, when Paul Rodgers chased down a long ball played to him on the right wing, Rodgers then crossed the ball in to the box where Wall was waiting to slot home from close range.

On the 79th Minute, Bromley put the game to bed when Bradley Goldberg’s individual effort saw him turn his defender in the box and shoot from close range, and give the team their first win in 5 games.
