Full Time: Bromley 0-1 Tranmere Rovers

  • Men's

It was the visitors who started the brighter. Hughes broke into the box after just five minutes and looked certain to at least force a save from Julian but a superb challenge by Francis denied the forward. Tranmere continued to keep the pressure up and had a number of chances blocked as well as forcing Alan Julian into two fantastic saves. The first came from a long range effort before he was called into action again to superbly save from a Norwood header. It was Bromley who had the best two chances late in the half, both falling to Emmanuel. The forward latched onto a flick-on around the corner and found himself in the six yard box with just the keeper to beat but dragged his shot wide. Minutes later Bromley’s top goalscorer managed to beat his defender again before cutting inside, this time his shot was blocked by a combination of Davies in the Tranmere goal and the recovering defender.

Tranmere started the second half as they started the first, and just 9 minutes into the half, Lee Vaughan’s right footed shot from the edge of the box was fired low in to the bottom right corner to put the visitors 1-0 up. Bromley’s search for an equaliser was boosted when Adam Coombes was brought on for his debut along with Alex Wall as Goldberg and Holland made way on the sixty eight minute. The final ten minutes saw Bromley throw everything forward at the travelling side, but unfortunately The Ravens were unable to get back level and Tranmere Rovers travelled back to Prenton Park with all three points.
