Cheek scoops Golden Boot award

At the Club’s recent virtual awards evening, it will come as no surprise to most that striker Michael Cheek picked up the Golden Boot award.

The 28 year old front man signed for the Ravens in May 2019 from local rivals Ebbsfleet United, and was certainly a man in demand. Despite the season being cancelled with a minimum of eight games to spare, Cheek still hit the 15 goal mark across all competitions, with 13 of those coming in the National League.

Manager Neil Smith, who presented the award, said of Cheek; “We signed him last Summer, and when we did that, it put down a marker for us as a club in terms of how we can attract these types of players.”

Upon receiving the award, Cheek added: “I’m delighted. Obviously the season got cut short, but hopefully I’ll get back to it next season and add some more goals.”

When asked for his favourite of his 15 strikes, he responded; “It would have to be the one against Notts County, just because it was from outside the box!”

Everyone at Bromley Football Club would like to congratulate Michael on this achievement and we look forward to plenty more next season!
