Report: Dagenham & Redbridge 2-1 Bromley

  • Men's

Bromley made the journey to the Chigwell Construction Stadium, with both sides having lost to lower placed teams the previous Saturday.

Bromley made the best possible start to the game, as Brandon Hanlan dispossessed the Daggers’ defence, ran at goal and finished low past Justham, via a touch off the upright.

Hanlan had chances to double Bromley’s lead, but first shot wide and then hit the post. Bradley Goldberg also came close but saw his effort go just wide of goal. Turgott suffered the same fate, after he collected Alan Dunne’s long range diagonal pass, cut in from the left and beat his man. At this point, Bromley would not have been flattered by a more convincing scoreline. The Ravens were made to pay for squandering their chances just a few minutes before the break, as Fejiri Okenabirhie slotted into an empty net after Bromley failed to clear the ball and goalkeeper Ross Flitney was left stranded.

After the break, the two sides both had half chances, but neither goalkeeper was tested enough to warrant either side taking the lead. Bromley had the lion’s share of possession and attacks, but ultimately failed to create enough clear cut chances. In the 88th minute, they would be punished yet again, as Jake Sheppard hit a wonder strike from 30 yards, giving Flitney no chance.

Bromley XI: Flitney, Chorley, Dunne, Holland (C), Minshull, Dennis, Anderson, Higgs, Turgott, Goldberg (Sho-Silva), Hanlan.

Unused substitutes: Wynter, Johnson, Dymond, Stanic-Stewart.
