Deji Elerewe netted his second goal in as many games as the Ravens came away 1-0 winners at Woking on Saturday.

Jude Arthurs returned to the starting line-up for the Ravens, coming in for Ben Krauhaus who served his suspension after picking up another booking on Tuesday night.

Elerewe, who netted the winner in our last meeting with the Cards too, also started alongside Byron Webster and Chin Okoli to form the back three.

After a very quiet start to the game, the Ravens thought they had a 20 minute opener when Webster did well to loft a free-kick towards the right flank before Josh Passley touched the ball down, played it to Michael Cheek in the box who fired home. However, the linesman’s flag was raised before the Bromley number nine made contact.

Passley was in the thick of it again soon after when his cross from the right found his fellow wing-back, Bes Topalloj, who saw his glancing header deflect wide.

Former Raven Zak Bradshaw started for the hosts and he almost latched onto a dangerous corner as the attacking threat was reversed.

Olufela Olomola caused problems all half and latched onto a Timi Odusina mistake, but after muscling the Woking defender out of the way, the referee blew for a Cards free-kick.

Just shy of the half-hour mark and Fela’s former Wealdstone team-mate Rhys Browne put Grant Smith to the test for the first time in the game, striking from 25 yards out, but it was comfortable enough for the Bromley number one.

Woking continued to attack in the early stages of the second 45 and almost took the lead in extraordinary style when Lewis Walker saw a dipping half-volley land onto the roof of the net.

Moments later and the Cards were on the attack again. Browne found himself in a glorious position to score from close range but Smith came out to bravely jump in the way, collect the ball and keep the scores level.

Corey Whitely did well to play a delightful through-ball to Cheek who stung the palms of Will Jaaskelainen before the resulting corner led to Bromley’s winning goal. Arthurs swung in a delightful corner and Elerewe was there to nod home again.

Bes Topalloj saw his effort at goal well saved on 66 minutes before Smith was called into action a couple more times in the latter stages, making some fantastic saves to keep us in front.

In awful, rainy conditions and facing six added minutes which spilt over to eight, the Ravens held on to clinch another impressive victory.
