First-Team train in preparation for Barnet trip

Neil Smith’s men were straight back to work following their Emirates FA Cup 1st Round exit on Saturday, with full focus returning to The Vanarama National League campaign.

Positivity was shining through the squad this morning as the Ravens look to direct the disappointment from the weekend’s result into a successful full week of training.

The week’s training is in preparation for Saturday’s trip across London to The Hive, as Barnet host Bromley in The Vanarama National League.

The Ravens will be hoping to emulate last season’s 2-1 win at The Hive, a game in which set-pieces proved decisive as Chris Bush and Joe Kizzi notched from attacking free-kicks either side of half-time.

The Bees did return the favour, however, back at the start of 2020. Goals from Josh Walker and Simeon Akinola helped secure a 2-1 away win at Hayes Lane in front of 2,035 supporters.

Neil Smith looked ahead to the trip to Barnet in his post-match interview on Saturday commenting; “We have got Barnet (next Saturday) and that’s the bigger game. We’ve got desires to be in and around the play-offs and we’ve got to make sure we are up for it.”

Neil Smith has been able to welcome back Billy Bingham into his squad following his recent recovery from injury. Bromley’s number four replaced Liam Trotter on 55 minutes in Saturday’s FA Cup tie providing further competition for places in the midfield department.
