With manager Neil Smith selecting a strong squad, comprised of first team, Professional Development, and Academy players, the Ravens were comfortable of the evening, and it was a good opportunity for some extra minutes for those who needed it.

The first chance of real note fell Bromley’s way just short of the 15 minute mark, and it was John Goddard who would have it. After good play from Jake Goodman, the on-loan Stevenage man was found in the middle of the Town half, and after driving at goal, he saw his low shot canon off the base of the post, with goalkeeper Will Godmon well beaten.

However, Goddard was not to be denied a second time, and just two minutes later, he would fire Bromley into the lead. An excellent ball from Joan Luque found Goddard around 20 yards from goal, and after taking a touch, he fired an unstoppable effort into the top corner to notch his first Bromley goal in some style.

After more magical footwork from Goddard, Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe got a sight of goal, and from the edge of the box, curled an effort destined for the bottom corner, but for the intervention of Godmon, who produced a fine diving save, tipping the ball wide for a corner.

It would be from that corner that Bromley would double their lead. A pinpoint delivery from Goddard into a crowd of heads was met by the imposing Marc-Anthony Okoye, who flicked a header into the bottom corner, also scoring his first goal for the Club.

Just before the break, there would be time for another good opportunity for the Ravens to extend their advantage. A burst of pace down the left from Luque, ending with an inch perfect low delivery to Goddard in the box should have seen him net his second, but he was denied by a brilliant close range save from Godmon.

After the interval, the game would go into a 15 minute spell of no attempts, on or off target, for either sides, with both Neil Smith and Clive Walker taking the opportunity to make changes.

Yet, it would be one of Smith’s starting XI who would further Bromley’s lead on the hour mark. After a mazy run, Aiden Enver found Kyle De Silva on the edge of the box, and after outpacing a defender, De Silva closed down on goal, before eventually beating Godmon with a low effort, via a heavy deflection which wrong-footed the Town ‘keeper.

The goal sparked the game into life once again, and just a minute and a half later, De Silva notched his second, and Bromley’s fourth. After latching onto a long ball forward, the former FC Eindhoven man beat the offside trap and slotted past the advancing Godmon into the bottom corner.

De Silva could have had a six minute hat trick, but after receiving the ball in the box and striking a fierce volley at goal, Godmon reacted well to make the save. Substitute Billy Craske then saw a 25 yard dipping volley fly inches wide of the post, before Faversham pulled one back.

Dean Grant received the ball on the edge of the box and narrowed his angle on goal, before firing a low, crisp effort into the bottom corner, beyond the reach of Kristupas Burba.

As time went on, Burba made a good save from a thumping Harry Goodger effort, before Godmon prevented it being five for Bromley, firstly making a good save from Craske and then tipping an Enver piledriver away from goal.
