Full Time: Macclesfield Town 2-0 Bromley

  • Men's

Bromley arrived at a freezing Moss Rose looking to right the wrongs of the previous weeks defeats at home to Boreham Wood and Altrincham.

The defeats meant changes to the starting eleven with Jack Holland returning to right back in place of Ugo Udoji, and Lee Minshull starting upfront with Moses Emmanuel while Reece Prestedge returned to the midfield to partner Ali Fuseini.

Bromley were the better side for the opening half of the game with several chances being created. Bromley’s best chance came on early on when a ball was hooked forward over the top of the Macclesfield defence and Emmanuel, under pressure from two of the recovering defenders, had his shot parried behind by Shawn Jalal for a corner which came to nothing.

Bromley continued to have spells of pressure, up until the dying minutes of the half when Macclesfield could have taken the lead, but an unmarked Kristen Dennis saw his free header from five yards well saved from Kettings.

The second half was a different story. Macclesfield took the lead within minutes, a ball played over to the back post was sent across the goal where Lewis was there to put the ball in the back of the net.

Macclesfield had the chance to double their lead shortly after when the ball was flicked onto Chroley’s hand in the box and the linesman flagged to indicate a penalty. Justice for Bromley came though as Kettings superbly saved the resulting penalty.

Bromley’s best chance in the half came as Emmanuel collected the ball, following a poor defence clearance, and hit a great curling strike which beat the keeper but rebounded of the post.

With ten minutes to go, Kristen Dennis doubled the home sides lead. Dennis was unmarked on the edge of the box and was able to slot the ball under Kettings.

The Ravens were unable to make any further advances and Macclesfield came out victorious.
