Bromley manager Neil Smith was delighted with the manner in which his side took all three points from their first home match of the season.

“It was outstanding. We knew Saturday would be tough, but we trained hard yesterday off the back of it so we’d be ready. To a man, every one of them were on it and knew exactly what they were doing.”

On Michael Cheek scoring his first goal for the club, ironically against the side he played for last season, Smith added; “I thought he was fantastic. George supported him very well too. There’s pressure for a centre forward to go and get goals, so it’s great he’s managed to get his first nice and early on in the season.”

Smith was also quick to praise Billy Bingham after his stunning brace; “Since he’s walked through the door, he’s been a complete professional. He’s worked very hard, and believe it or not, he’s got a shot on him. We’ve seen it many times in training and he’s shown what he has up his sleeve. As a partnership, him and Frankie Raymond worked well tonight.”

The Ravens manager was also happy to have entertained a crowd in excess of 1700 on a Tuesday evening; “I said it on Saturday, we’re going to need the support to push us on. The supporters have been great to us and especially to me since I took over here, and tonight was no exception, they were brilliant again. We’re going to need that support come Saturday, as we prepare for a tough test in the form of Torquay.”
