Bromley manager Neil Smith was left frustrated at his side’s lack of final product, as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Solihull Moors.
“It was a game of two halves. I’m just watching it all back now and away from home against a good side we’ve created 18 chances to their 6. We were just saying in the dressing room how we need to be clinical in both boxes to win games. The goals against both took deflections, they weren’t great goals.”
On going a goal down against the run of play, Smith commented; “It’s always frustrating to go a goal down, let alone against a side like Solihull. However, I felt we’d dominated the first half to that point which made it even more so. The boys believed and we looked to respond, but the second goal put us on the back foot. It was another unfortunate one – Ryan had made another great save just before it went in.”
“I’ve always said it, I believe in these boys. Alfie got the goal with what must have been 30 seconds left and we wanted to get kickoff underway as quick as possible because we still believed we could get another goal. With all the travel issues today, we’re disappointed, but I don’t think the scoreline is a fair reflection on the game. We’ll regroup on Monday and see what we’ve got ahead of next Saturday. We’re back at home, so hopefully the crowd get behind us again and we can have a good cup run.”
