Bromley bailed out of the Kent Senior Cup with a 2-0 quarter final defeat to a young Charlton Athletic side.
It was the visitors who made the brightest start to the game with an opening goal with just twelve minutes on the clock. A great strike from Aribo on the angle finished of a good footballing move. It was two after twenty minutes for Charlton, Umerah with an easy tap in at the back post after a good low cross. Bromley’s two half chances in the first forty five minutes both fell to Coombes. The first was a powerful shot from the edge of the box which went high and wide. The second came after a cross from Wall was met by a volley from Coombes which flew wide of the post.
Bromley had the majority of the second half possession but failed to get on the scoresheet. The best chances of the half falling to Wall and Goldberg. Early in the half and a lofted ball was flicked on into Goldberg, six yards out, but the forward failed to make contact before it was easily collected by Pope in the Charlton goal. Midway through the half a long ball forward fell kindly to Wall on the edge of the box but the forwards first time powerful strike went over the bar.
