FC Halifax Town 2 – 2 Bromley

  • Men's

Bromley conceded two goals in the last 5 minutes of the game to earn the home side a point.

Bromley came in to the game looking to bounce back from 3 straight defeats, however with Halifax failing to gain a point from their first 4 games, the home side was also looking to kickstart their season.

Bromley started the game the stronger of the two sides, but failed to make any chances count. Both teams had the chance to put their side ahead. Alan Julian deserved huge credit in the game as he saved no less than 4 shots surely destined for goal.

The game changed in the second half with Goldberg and May making way for Wall and Joseph- Dubois. No less than 12 minutes later a fantastic right footage shot by Moses Emmanuel opened the scoring for Bromley. In the 90th minute Bromley made it 2-0 when Pierre found his way in to the centre of the box to slot home the 2nd with his right foot.

All seemed over for the home side, but with 5 minutes indicated by the 4th official, Halifax began to press in to the Bromley half and with one minute to go in injury time allocated, Connor Hughes volleyed home a shot from the edge of the box to make it 2-1. Less than one minute later, Halifax pressed again, Bromley failed to clear the ball which found its way in to the Bromley box and when Holland challenged Whitehouse with a header, it was Halifax’s number 8 than came off worse and appeared to be badly injured, however he did get up and finish the game. The referee awarded a penalty to the home team which they converted to make it 2-2.

The club would once again like to thank the 73 fans that traveled to the game.
