Match preview: Bromley vs Altrincham

Altrincham sit 14th in the National League on 54 points from 42 matches.

They have won two of their previous five matches, beating Dover and Wealdstone whilst drawing to Barnet and losing to Wrexham and most recently, Notts County.

Their top scorer is Dan Mooney who has 12 goals in all competitions in this campaign.

The Manchester outfit were promoted to the National League in 2020 after winning the 19/20 National League North play-off final 1-0 against Boston United. In their first season back in the fifth tier, they finished 17th.

The Opposition Manager

Manager Phil Parkinson was appointed by Altrincham in 2017 following the departure of former permanent manager Matt Doughty. 

Parkinson had overseen promotions from the Northern Premier League in 2018 after winning the league, and from the National League North in 2020 after winning the play-offs.

The Previous Meeting

Bromley last took on Altrincham at Moss Lane where the Ravens ran out 1-0 winners.

Omar Sowunmi’s 33rd minute header was the difference between the sides, as an excellent defensive display from the Ravens saw out the three points.
