FC Halifax Town formed in 2008 following the previous financial troubles involving Halifax Town. The reformed side was relegated to Northern Premier League Division One North, where they finished 8th in their first season. The following season earned the clubs first title, and promotion to the Northern Premier League. The clubs stay in this league was short lived as they gain promotion to the Conference North the following season.
Further success was came in 2012/2013 when FC Halifax claimed the Conference North play-off title with a 1-0 win against Brackley Town.
The club then enjoyed a fantastic 1st season back in the Conference Premier, finishing 5th in the league and reached the play-off final where they lost 2-0 to Cambridge. Last season saw the team finish a solid 9th.
