The Last Game

Bromley took on Notts County at Hayes Lane last Saturday, running out 1-0 winners in our last game after the weekend’s postponement at Halifax Town.

A close-range Jude Arthurs finish on the stroke of half-time was enough to secure three points for Woodman’s men.

The Opposition

Southend sit 15th in the National League on 32 points from 25 matches.

They have won three out of their previous five matches in all competitions, picking up ten points in the league as well as being knocked out of the FA Trophy by Dagenham.

Their top scorer is Rhys Murphy, the striker has picked up nine goals in all competitions during this campaign. Seven in the National League and two in the FA Cup.

The Shrimpers were admitted into the Football League in 1920 where they stayed for 100 years, including stints in the second tier, but they were relegated to Non League for the first time after a 23rd placed finish in League Two in the 20/21 season.

The Essex coast outfit have won the Football League Trophy (now known as the Papa John’s Trophy) three times, including back-to-back successes in 2003/04 and 2004/05. They have also been champions of League One in 2005/06 and the Fourth Division in 1980/81.
