Match preview: Tonbridge Angels vs Bromley

The Ravens travel to the Longmead Stadium this afternoon to take on Tonbridge Angels in the Buildbase FA Trophy.

The Last Game

Bromley took on Southend United at Roots Hall on Tuesday, falling to a 2-0 defeat with goals coming from Matthew Dennis and Shaun Hobson.

The Opposition 

Tonbridge Angels sit 18th in the National League South on 25 points from 25 matches. 

They have won one out of their previous five matches in the league, picking up a 3-1 win at table-toppers Dorking Wanderers.

Their top scorers are Tommy Wood and Joe Turner, who have each picked up eight goals in all competitions.

The Kent outfit were promoted to the National League South in 2019, following their play-off final victory over Met Police, where they ran out 3-2 winners.

Before the 2019/20 and 20/21 seasons were curtailed, the Angels sat 14th and 15th respectively.

To reach this point in the FA Trophy, Tonbridge have beaten Canvey Island 1-0, Torquay 2-1 and Kings Lynn on penalties (1-1 after normal time).

The Opposition Manager

Steve McKimm was appointed Tonbridge Angels manager in May 2014, he joined from Sutton United.

McKimm has taken Tonbridge Angels to two play-off finishes in the seventh tier, one of which led to promotion for his side in 2019. He also reached the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup with the Angels in the 2016/17 campaign.

The Previous Meeting

The last meeting between Bromley and Tonbridge Angels was a 4-1 win at the Longmead Stadium in a friendly on 19th September 2020.

Two goals each from Joe Kizzi and Ben Williamson gave the Ravens the win.
