Match report: Boreham Wood 2-0 Bromley

  • Men's

The Ravens fell to a 2-0 defeat away at Boreham Wood on Saturday.

The Ravens found themselves behind inside four minutes after Tyrone Marsh unleashed a fantastic strike which dipped into the top corner.

One nearly became two soon after when former Bromley forward, Adrian Clifton, headed a cross just over the bar.

Bromley were dealt a scare on 17 minutes when Ellery Balcombe’s clearance cannoned off Scott Boden, but the ball floated just over the bar.

The hosts continued to pressure in the second half with Jamal Fyfield striking high and wide early into the final 45.

However, the Ravens could have levelled proceedings soon after as Michael Cheek saw his header blocked off the line before Liam Trotter nodded the follow-up wide.

Jacob Mendy then tested Balcombe from range before Mark Ricketts had a turn at striking at goal.

Boreham Wood then doubled their lead on 73 minutes, a low cross was played in from the right and Scott Boden was on hand to tap home.

James Alabi almost netted late on, but his low shot was saved.

That proved to be the final chance of the game as the Wood held on to clinch the three points.
