Match report: Halifax Town 1-0 Bromley

  • Men's

The Ravens fell to defeat at The Shay tonight, losing 1-0.

The first chance of the game fell Halifax’s way after Chris Bush was caught out by Jordan Slew who raced through on goal. However, he was eventually denied by an out-rushing Ellery Balcombe.

Up the other end and Luke Coulson did well to loop a ball into the box for Ali Al-Hamadi who volleyed just over the ball from close range.

Balcombe was called into action again on 15 minutes to deny a shot from the edge of the box before Billy Bingham dived in to prevent the follow-up effort causing any danger.

Tyrell Warren’s low drive went wide before a Halifax volley forced Balcombe into another save, diving low to his left.

Al-Hamadi had another chance to open the scoring after some great play from Coulson and Michael Cheek, but his shot could only find the ‘keeper’s gloves.

The hosts opened the scoring just past the hour mark as Luke Summerfield’s shot from distance nestled the bottom corner.

Cheek then looped a ball into the box for Jude Arthurs, but the substitute headed wide.

Billy Waters tried his luck from a tight angle, forcing Balcombe into another save before the Bromley stopper saved Warburton’s effort on the turn.

Halifax managed to hold on to clinch a vital three points.

Next up, we host Wrexham on Saturday.
