After the luxury of having no midweek game this week, Bromley entertain Barnet Football Club at Hayes Lane on Saturday, kick-off 3.00pm.

Earlier in the season Bromley travelled to The Hive and returned with a 3-1 victory. Joe Kizzi and James Alabi gave the visitors a 2-0 lead at half time, before Michael Cheek added a third on the hour mark, whilst Michael Petrasso reduced the arrears towards the end.

Barnet are not having the best of seasons, and are languishing in 22nd position in the League table with 12 points from their 24 games played. The points have been obtained with 3 victories and 3 draws, and last Saturday they were without a fixture, whilst on Tuesday they suffered their 18th league defeat of the season as play off hopefuls Wrexham won 2-0 at The Hive.

Last season both Clubs lost their respective home fixtures, Bromley winning 2-1 at The Hive, and Barnet winning at Hayes Lane by the same scoreline.

This fixture will be the 71st game between the two Clubs, going back to the first one in the 1899-1900 season when the teams drew 1-1 in Bromley’s London League Division 1 home fixture. The return game did not take place as both teams were eventually expelled from the League over questions regarding illegal payments being made to players.

The majority of the games between the Clubs have come in the old Athenian League with the occasional Cup competition, but for the past two seasons the Vanarama National League has been the competition that the Clubs have competed in following Barnet’s relegation from the Football League.
