Preview: Ravens vs Glovers

  • Men's

We welcome to Hayes Lane for the second time this season, all connected with Yeovil Town Football Club, having previously travelled to Hayes Lane on 7th November for the 1st Round FA Cup tie.

Our two Clubs first crossed paths on 21March 1986 for an Isthmian League fixture, since when there have been a further twelve fixtures in the form of seven Isthmian League games, one Isthmian League Charity Cup, last seasons two National League fixtures, and this seasons FA Cup 1st Round tie.

Out of all these meetings, Bromley have recorded just one victory and last season’s 1-1 home draw, with Yeovil being successful in the remaining eleven games.

That victory came here at Hayes Lane on 5 September 1987, when two goals from Alan Scotting gave Bromley a 2-1 victory; whilst the only other point Bromley have obtained from our visitors is the 1-1 draw here at Hayes Lane last season when, on 30 November 2019, a Frankie Raymond penalty gave Bromley the lead, before a late equaliser.

In last year’s fixture in Somerset, Yeovil ended our 13 match unbeaten start to the season with a 3-1 victory, after the game had been delayed for 18 minutes for a severe injury to the visiting goalkeeper, Mark Cousins, in the 2nd minute of the game; and just one month ago substitute Gabriel Rogers broke Bromley’s hearts by scoring in the second minute of added time at the end of extra time to eliminate Bromley from the 1st Round of this seasons FA Cup.

Although to be fair, it was probably no more than our visitors tonight deserved, having created several good chances throughout the game.

Currently our guests tonight are without a League victory from their 10 games completed thus far, having drawn five and lost five and, as a result, occupy bottom place in the League table.  Last Saturday they did not have a fixture.
