On Tuesday evening Bromley welcome League Leaders, Sutton United, to Hayes Lane for the return Vanarama National League fixture, kick off 7.00pm.
This will be the third attempt to play the fixture as two previous attempts were postponed. On Boxing Day the game was called off due to Covid-19 in the Bromley camp, and the new date of 19 January did not take place as Bromley had to play their 4th Round FA Trophy tie against Woking which took preference.
Just three weeks ago Bromley were defeated at Gander Green Lane by three goals to two, after leading in the match 2-1 with four minutes left to play; but earlier in the season Bromley won in an FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round with Michael Cheek’s penalty on their opponent’s ground.
Since the turn of the Century, Bromley have had the better of the twelve home games that have taken place against the Surrey Club, winning eight and losing four.
Unbeaten in their last nine matches, with seven victories and two draws, Sutton enhanced their title bid las Tuesday evening with a 1-0 victory at play-off contenders, Chesterfield, as three chasing Clubs all dropped points; whilst on Saturday, another Club hoping for a play-off place – Stockport County – gained a point in the 96th minute with an equalising goal for a 1-1 draw at Gander Green Lane. Sutton have 57 points from 27 games completed.
