Ravens beat Maidstone in second home pre-season friendly

It proved to be a quiet first half with little to report, but it was to be the visitors who struck first as Trialist B slotted past Teddy Sharman-Lowe with only two minutes on the clock.

20 minutes passed and Bromley were awarded a penalty which was cooly converted by Adam Marriott to level proceedings.

Marcus Sablier then tried to cause more problems in the Maidstone box, but his cross couldn’t quite find Marriott for his second and deflected out for a corner.

The visitors could have ended the half in front had a dangerous free-kick from just outside the box not crept narrowly past the post.

George Alexander forced Maidstone’s trialist goalkeeper into an excellent save early into the second 45 before he eventually did find the net, nodding home Ben Krauhaus’ corner.

Up the other end and Maidstone could have levelled through Devonte Aransibia who forced Sharman-Lowe into a stop.

Just shy of the hour mark and two nearly became three when Jude Arthurs was played through on goal, but his looping effort dipped over the ‘keeper, but also over the bar too, landing on the roof of the net.

Soon after and the Bromley number 20 tried his luck again, this time heading towards goal, forcing the Maidstone ‘keeper to make another excellent save.

Soul Kader was one of many second half switches and almost made it three, striking from a tight angle, but his effort was saved.

The Stones could have levelled late on, but it would be the Ravens who came out on top in another positive pre-season work-out.
