Bromley Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Ellery Balcombe on loan from Premier League side Brentford until the end of the season.
His arrival means that Reice Charles-Cook has left the club. We wish Reice all the best and thank him for his services during his time at Hayes Lane.
Balcombe rose up through the youth ranks at Brentford, going on to sign his first professional contract in June 2018. Four loan spells followed, beginning with a short stint at National League side Boreham Wood where he made eight appearances.
He then moved on to ply his trade abroad with Danish First Division side Viborg FF, before returning to England and signing for Doncaster Rovers on loan. He would make his Football League breakthrough with The Reds, making 17 appearances in total with 15 of these being in League One.
This season saw Balcombe spend time with another third tier side, this time in Burton Albion, where he has featured in the EFL Trophy.
The 6’3″ stopper also has international pedigree having represented England at Under 18, 19 and 20 level. He represented the Three Lions at the 2018 UEFA European U19 Championships and the 2017 and 2019 Toulon Tournament.
Speaking after his arrival, Ellery said: “I can’t wait to get going. I had a really good training session today and I just can’t wait to get started.
It’s a really good set-up here and I can’t wait to get on the pitch in front of the fans. We’ve got a great group of players here with great talent.”
Welcome to Hayes Lane, Ellery!
