Ravens fall to Barnet defeat

The Ravens fell to back-to-back defeats on Saturday as Barnet won 2-0 at the RELOC8 EM Community Stadium.

Barnet would have the first effort of the game as Harry Pritchard took a shot from range, but it comfortable enough for Grant Smith to make the save. Callum Reynolds would provide a great opportunity for Bromley with a cross into the box that narrowly missed a rising Michael Cheek.

Barnet would take the lead through a free kick that bounced into the box and found the feet of Danny Collinge who slotted it past Grant Smith. The Bromley ‘keeper would provide a fantastic save not long after from Nicke Kabamba’s shot, preventing the visitors from doubling their lead.

Corey Whitley provided a great chance for Bromley from distance that flew towards the goal and thundered into the crossbar. Jude Arthurs delivered a dangerous free-kick that would find the head of Callum Reynolds at the back-post, but his looping header was caught by Laurie Walker.

Barnet looked for a second as the ball fell to Harry Pritchard who blasted his second effort high and wide.

Barnet would have the first chance of the second half when Dale Gorman struck the ball narrowly wide from outside the box. Bromley had their first opportunity of the half as Adam Marriott struck from inside of the area which just deflected over for a corner.

Barnet would later score another through Nicki Kabamba who slotted the ball across the goal to double the visitors’ lead. Debutant Todd Miller provided Bromley their first opportunity of the second half unleashing a powerful effort that was saved by Laurie Walker.

Barnet should have scored a third as a defensive mix-up gifted them an opportunity to score into an empty net before the shot flew wide of the post.

Bromley created another opportunity to find the net as Jude Arthurs delivered a brilliant ball into the box, which Cheek would loft over the bar from close range. Louis Dennis then had another opportunity from the edge of the box, but it fizzed narrowly wide.

A third chance would come for Bromley as Billy Bingham volleyed the ball towards the top corner from the edge of the box, but it was well saved by Walker.

Barnet saw out the win as the Ravens turn their attentions to Tuesday night as we welcome Wealdstone.
