Ravens in Millwall pre-season defeat

  • Men's

Earlier today, Bromley faced their South London Rivals, Millwall, at The Lions’ training ground and the behind closed-doors fixture ended 2-0 to the Championship side, ending The Ravens’ unbeaten run during the 2021 pre-season.

The match consisted of players who did not play against Dulwich Hamlet the evening before, and the Ravens came up against a strong Millwall side.

The friendly was played in three 30 minute intervals, and it was the first third of the game where Millwall opened the scoring through a Connor Mahoney penalty. However, the decision to give the penalty was met by plenty of appeals from the Bromley players and bench.

Bromley then found themselves growing into the game with their closest chance coming just before the first break as Luke Coulson’s cross hit the Millwall post but no one could pounce on the goal-mouth scramble and this saw the end of the first interval.

Twenty minutes after the second-interval kicked off, Millwall doubled their lead, with Matt Smith heading past Mark Cousins.

The game was another run out for The Ravens as they look ahead to their next pre-season fixture, away to Welling United on Saturday 7th August.
