Report: Bromley 0-1 Sutton United

  • Men's
Bromley fell to their second defeat in three days at the hands of a physical Sutton United side.
In a game in which there were few clear chances, Brett Williams, who was off balance, sliced an effort wide after being put through by Luke Wanadio.
Just two minutes later, David Gregory made a fantastic save to deny Kieron Cadogan, coming out to produce a brave block at the attacker’s feet. However, Sutton would prevail with their next significant attack, and Craig Eastmond would be the man to score it, thumping home from an angle after being put through.
Bromley offered little by way of response in the first half, and Sutton failed to create a significant threat of adding to their lead.
Although Bromley improved in the second half, there was unfortunately no end product, and Us goalkeeper Jamie Butler was not tested enough. The visitors could have added to their lead, but for Josh Taylor and Aswad Thomas shooting wide, the latter of whom from what must have been 6 yards out.
Bromley had two good opportunities to level things up in the dying moments, but Josh Rees could only head on to the roof of the net, whilst Jordan Higgs hit the side netting after Sutton failed to clear a corner, when he arguably should have hit the target.
