Bromley recorded victory in the first game in front of the newly opened Glyn Beverly stand.

Prior to kickoff, a fitting opening ceremony took place to officially open the stand, with Chairman Jerry Dolke paying tribute to the late, great Club President.

Bromley’s first chance of the game came from a free kick taken by Billy Bingham, with the ball poised just outside the box. however, the free kick was way off course and went over the bar. Bingham had another chance moments later. Following an error in the Crystal Palace back line, Bingham got a sight on goal, but his low shot just bounced off of the post.

Bromley’s start to the game created many opportunities as a result of some free flowing football. A combination of passes cut the Palace defence open, creating space for the Bromley attack to move forward. A pass to George Porter enabled him to try his luck at goal, but it sailed narrowly wide. Crystal Palace had their first chance through a ball over the top in the direction of Tristan Abrahams, creating an opening. Abrahams was unable to convert the effort with Mark Cousins quick to come off his line, putting him under pressure and forcing a shot which sailed over the bar.

Bromley scored their first goal in front of the Glyn Beverly Stand 27 minutes into the game. allowing A fantastic cross from Jordan Higgs, just after his free kick had been blocked, , fell to the head of Joe Kizzi at the back post, and he powerfully thrust the ball into the net, putting the Ravens into the lead.

The first half ended with Bromley dominating the young Crystal Palace side, having more chances and posing more of a threat to goal.

The second half started positively for the Ravens, with Clifton going for goal in style. He flicked the ball up with his back to goal and attempted an audacious effort at goal through a bicycle kick, which was inches over the bar. Bromley asked questions of the Palace defence twice in a matter of seconds, with Bingham being the supplier of both chances. Firstly, great attacking play ended in an unclaimed ball falling to Bingham, who aimed for top bins with a powerful strike, however a phenomenal stop from Joe Tupper prevented Bromley going two goals to the good. Bromley’s second chance fell to Bingham through a scramble in the six-yard-box, but when he swung his boot at Reeco Hackett-Fairchild’s cut back, but he was unfortunate to see the ball hit the post and bounce wide.

In the dying embers of the game, Bromley had a chance to double their lead, through a low driven cross by Hackett-Fairchild, but Korrey Henry was unable to set himself in time put any direction onto the ball, with it falling inches wide.
