Bromley fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of league leaders Dagenham and Redbridge at Hayes Lane.
The Ravens matched their opponents in the opening stages, but allowed Corey Whitely too much space, and the pacy frontman produced a low shot from outside the area which beat the diving Alan Julian.
Tobi Sho-Silva should have equalised later on, but he diverted Blair Turgott’s goalbound cross over the bar, as Bromley continued to press for an equaliser. Turgott himself also had a good chance, but after taking down Joe Anderson’s quick throw in, his volley was easily saved by Elliot Justham in the Daggers’ goal. The visitors themselves will have counted themselves unlucky to go in just one goal up at the break, with two scrambles in the Bromley penalty area ending in frustration.
In the second half, Bromley started brightly and levelled things up around five minutes in. Rob Swaine rose highest to head home a corner at the far post, giving Justham no chance. However, Swaine, already on a yellow card, was sent off just two minutes after his heroics, after sliding into a challenge and failing to get the ball. To add insult to injury, in the same passage of play, the Daggers reclaimed the lead, after a slick passing move, which was finished off coolly by Brighton and Hove Albion loanee Jordan Maguire-Drew.
Two minutes later, and the visitors were awarded a penalty, after Dave Martin was adjudged to have tripped a Daggers attacker in the box. Oliver Hawkins stepped up and calmly converted the spot kick, sending Julian the wrong way.
It just wasn’t to be for Bromley, as on the 85th minute mark, Sho-Silva looked certain to score from close range, but spooned his effort over the crossbar.
