Bromley entertained promotion favourites AFC Fylde at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon, with the Ravens looking to continue a seven game unbeaten run.
Against the run of play, the first opportunity of the game came in the 7thminute, falling to AFC Fylde and they managed to capitalise on a loose ball following their first corner of the game. The ball eventually fell to Jordan Williams in the box, and he managed to smash the ball in from close range.
Reeco Hackett-Fairchild went close to levelling just minutes later, after the ball found its way in to the box thanks to a Josh Rees flick, but his strike with his weaker foot was directed over the crossbar.
Almost ten minutes after conceding, and were are level. Great distribution from Mark Cousins allowed Luke Coulson to flick a header on to Sam Wood, who cut inside and found Billy Bingham. His left footed, first-time strike found its way past James Montgomery’s dive at near post. 1-1 with 16 minutes on the clock.
Almost on the half hour mark, a Chris Bush throw was knocked down by Michael Cheek. Hackett-Fairchild, this time on his stronger left foot, but from 18 yards out he was unable to keep his shot down, failing to trouble Montgomery.
5 minutes from the break and the Coasters were back in front. Williams got a march on the Bromley defence and latched onto the end of a through ball, before sliding past Mark Cousins for his second of the game.
On 63 minutes, the ball was played into Cheek down the right-hand side and he cut into the penalty area, but was fouled by Kyle Jameson. The referee pointed straight to spot and up stepped Frankie Raymond, calmly finding the bottom right hand corner, despite Montgomery diving the right way.
The final real chance of the game came deep into 4 minutes of stoppage time. A long ball sent Cheek down the right-hand side, and he cut the ball back to Adam Mekki on who stung Montgomery’s palms with a stinging effort. The Coasters’ poor clearance dropped to Frankie Raymond on the edge of the box, also on his favoured left foot, but his blistering volley was agonisingly wide.
