Report & Reaction: Barnet 1-1 Bromley

Bromley continued their play-off push by drawing away 1-1 to fellow promotion hopefuls Barnet at The Hive on Friday.

The Bees commenced the game with real intent, with David Moyo delivering a dangerous cross that went wide for a corner. Moyo was causing issues once again for Bromley, this time placing his header over the bar from Ryan De Havilland’s corner. Barnet kept attacking, Idris Kanu’s venomous effort from 20 yards deflected just wide.

In the 22nd minute, Corey Whitely turned his marker and skied his effort over the bar. Bromley then had their best moment of the game shortly after when Ryan Stirk’s free-kick found Omar Sowunmi at the back post who forced a good save from Laurie Walker.Stirk’s perfect crosses inside Barnet’s penalty area continued, this time with Besart Topalloj’s header was well saved by Barnet’s keeper. In the 38th minute, Louis Dennis produced a cross for Michael Cheek who volleyed wide.As the half was coming to an end, Barnet scored through Finley Potter. The defender pounced on Reice Charles-Cook’s save and scored into an empty net.In the second half, Bromley got off to a dream start. Following Stirk’s free-kick, Cheek scrambled the ball goalwards and equalised for the Ravens.Following a lengthy spell for both teams keeping possession, De Havilland’s free kick from 25 yards went over the bar. It was a tense and cagey game for both teams.

With the game coming to an end, Jude Arthur’s shot produced an incredible save by Walker, who then followed up his heroics by saving Cheek’s close effort.
Bromley will look to return to winning ways as they host Boreham Wood on Monday.
