The Ravens lost 3-1 to Barnet in an action packed game under the lights at Hayes Lane.
The first chance of the clash fell to the visitors. In the sixth minute, an inch perfect cross by Ryan De Havilland found Harry Pritchard, who powerfully headed his effort towards goal with Tom Smith making an excellent save to keep the scores level.
Barnet kept relentlessly pressing, this time with Nicke Kabamba darting his way into the box and forcing Smith to get a strong hand on his effort.
Bromley’s first chance fell to Corey Whitely who intercepted the ball inside the box but his effort was easily saved by Laurie Walker.
In the 22nd minute, Dale Gorman’s thunderous effort from 25 yards hit the crossbar.
As the game reached the half an hour mark, a trademark long throw-in from Chris Bush found its way to Michael Cheek, with the striker firing wide in what was to be the best chance for the Ravens to take the lead.
New loanee Charles Clayden then tried his luck from 20 yards and from a tight angle, saw his effort go just wide of the post.
In the second half, the game had far and few chances in the opening stages. Bromley’s first chance fell to Clayden in the 57th minute, whose deflected effort following Billy Bingham’s corner was comfortably saved by Walker. Minutes later, the number seven delivered a cross into the box following a counter attack, to which Cheek was inches away from getting a connection to.
As the game passed the hour mark, Bromley took the lead in quite some style. After some incredible build-up play from the Ravens, Whitley delivered a cross across goal, to which Clayden was there to score into an empty net, scoring on his home league debut.
In the 71st minute, Clayden was once again in the thick of the action and was appeared to have been clipped in the box, however no penalty was given.
As the game was coming to an end, Bingham’s dipping volley went just wide. Shortly after Bingham’s chance, Barnet equalised via a long range effort from Idris Kanu.
In the 90th minute, Pritchard scored a header from a Rob Hall free-kick to give Barnet the lead. In additional time of the game, Pritchard scored another goal to compound Bromley’s misery, this time from 25 yards.
