The Ravens progress to the semi-final of the National League play-offs after beating Woking 2-1 on Wednesday night and will face Chesterfield on Sunday, 3.30pm kick-off.
In a first half full of Bromley chances, the first came on six minutes when Omar Sowunmi’s long throw found Michael Cheek at the near-post, his header was saved by Will Jaaskelainen to deny an early opener from a tight angle.
The resulting corner found Sowunmi who headed towards goal for Deji Elerewe to get a vital touch from a couple of yards out, but the Woking ‘keeper was on hand to make the save again.
It was another dangerous Ryan Stirk corner on eight minutes and this one fell to Louis Dennis who drilled an effort low and hard for Jaaskelainen to make yet another save. It was chance after chance for Bromley in the opening minutes.
The missed opportunities proved costly as up the other end, the ball fell to Rohan Ince from just outside the box who blasted home the opener on 12 minutes.
Dennis was in the thick of it again soon after, getting a toe on a brilliant Bes Topalloj low cross, but Jaaskelainen made yet another vital save.
Jim Kellermann, who later went off with an injury, attempted a spectacular dipping volley on 20 minutes, but his effort could only find the roof of the net.
More chances fell Bromley’s way late on in the first 45 when a Stirk free-kick found Callum Reynolds who peeled away from the defenders, heading across goal, but it missed both Elerewe and Dennis in the box and a Bromley shirt couldn’t get that vital touch.
Deep into six minutes of stoppage time, Cheek forced Jaaskelainen into another save before the ball came back out to Kellen Fisher who blasted towards goal, but his shot was well blocked from just inside the box.
Contrary to the start of the first half, it was Woking who started the better of the two sides in the second period as Solomon Nwabuokel struck from range, but his low effort fizzed narrowly wide.
Heroic defending by Omar Sowunmi before some brilliant goalkeeping by Reice Charles-Cook prevented a Woking second before the Ravens bagged an equaliser as Cheek buried home from the spot after the referee awarded the visitors a penalty on 53 minutes.
Fisher had a chance to make it 1-2 before Elerewe did make it 1-2, his looping header from a long throw-in found the top corner and turned the game completely on its head.
The Ravens managed to hold on to reach the National League play-off semi-final for the first time in their history where they will face Chesterfied away. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, 3.30pm.
