Bromley Football Club are pleased to confirm the signing of Colchester United defender Paul Rooney on a short term loan.
Rooney, 21, stands at 6″2′ and is mainly deployed as a centre back. Having started his career at St Patrick’s Athletic, he made the move to fellow League of Ireland Premier Division side Bohemians. Following a short stay with the Bohs, Paul made the move to England in 2016, signing for fellow South London outfit Millwall. During his time with the Lions, he enjoyed a loan spell at then National League outfit Torquay United, where he made a total of 7 appearances in all competitions, scoring once.
After his time with Millwall came to an end, Rooney was snapped up by Colchester United, where he has spent the past season.
Paul is available for selection for tomorrow’s visit of FC Halifax Town.
Meanwhile, the Club can this afternoon also confirm two loan departures. Tobi Adebayo-Rowling has joined National League South side Eastbourne Borough for a month, while Aiden Enver has signed for Bostik South East Division outfit Whitstable Town for the same period of time.
This week’s ‘Ravens Weekly’ podcast episode (which you can listen to at the bottom of this page) includes an interview with Paul Rooney.
