Summary: Bromley 4-1 Brentford B

  • Men's

Bromley scored four for the second time in a week as Brentford B visited Hayes Lane on Saturday afteroon, in what would be the Ravens’ final pre-season fixture.

The hosts made a strong start and took the lead just 11 minutes in. Reeco Hackett-Fairchild planted a perfectly timed header towards the back post, allowing Michael Cheek time to ghost in and prod home to keep up his fine form in pre-season.

The Ravens would see their lead doubled on 57 minutes. An exquisite, outside of the boot cross from Billy Bingham found the head of Kory Roberts at the far post, who headed across goal and into the net.

Two would become three ten minutes later, as substitute Ben Williamson showed awareness to flick home from close range for his third goal of pre-season as Bromley began to cruise.

Despite plenty of possession, Brentford failed to test Mark Cousins until seven minutes from time, Julien Carre evaded challenges on the edge of the box, before powering an unstoppable drive into the top corner.

However, right from kick off, Bromley were back level. Ben Allen and James Alabi put pressure on the Bees’ defence, with a mix up between Aubrel Koutsimouka and Ellery Balcome following, allowing Alabi to gain possession and stroke the ball into an empty net for his second goal in two games.

There was time for substitute goalkeeper Tarek Najia to get in on the action late on, as he made an outstanding double save to first deny Alex Gilbert’s header, before saving an acrobatic follow up from Trialist B.

Bromley XI: Cousins (Najia), Kizzi, Bingham (Trotter), Bush, Holland (C) (Coulson, Purrington), Raymond (Trialist A), Cheek (Alabi), Hackett-Fairchild (Williamson, Allen), Roberts (Vincent), Webster, Forster (Tanner)
