Full Time: Bromley 2-0 Guiseley

  • Men's

Two great strikes from substitute Bradley Goldberg were enough for Bromley to take all three points.

With chances few and far between it was the home side who could have taken a lead into half time. Swaine was unlucky midway through the half as his attempt to get on the end of a cross resulted in a weak header wide.

Rohdell went close for Bromley late in the half as his freekick looked to be destined for the top corner of the goal only for Guiseley’s Atkinson to produce a fantastic save to tip the ball wide of the post.

Just before the break Chorley and Minshull were involved in a scuffle with the Guiseley midfield but both players escaped a caution while Boshell was booked for the visitors.

After the interval Bromley began to press harder with Rob Swaine sending the ball forward to Adam Cunnington. Bromley’s number 11 knocked it down to Emmanuel who laid it off to Gordon who then took on the Guiseley defence. He superbly beat Rob Atkinson with a nutmeg and was then one on one with his namesake, Daniel Atkinson, but he couldn’t finish when it counted.

Guiseley then had their best effort of the match, Hurst crossed into the box but Swaine was able to head clear. The ball then fell to Will Hatfield who struck one from distance but the crossbar denied the midfielder.

Pierre Joseph-Dubois had a header go wide of the mark before Bradley Goldberg one upped the winger. Lee Minshull held the ball on the left wing and crossed for the substitute who headed Bromley into the lead. Bromley were in firm control of the match and Gordon almost provided The Ravens’ second. The Stevenage loanee travelled with the ball on the right and fired in a low cross towards the back post. The on-rushing Adam Cunnington tried his best to meet the ball but he was inches away from making contact.

Bradley Goldberg then sealed the win for Neil Smith’s side, Gordon fired the ball into Goldberg who was given time and space on the ball. As the Guiseley defence stepped off him, Bradley eyed up Atkinson’s goal and wrapped his right boot around the ball sending it into the top corner. 2-0 to Bromley.

Bromley cement their position in 11th following the win opening up a 4 point gap to 12th place Macclesfield. Guiseley find themselves in 18th, 5 points off the drop zone.
