Bromley Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Nathan Tormey.
The talented former Arsenal left sided winger, 21, has featured in some pre-season fixtures for Andy Woodman’s men as a trialist, with the pair having previously worked together at Arsenal.
Tormey represented Arsenal at youth level, signing a scholarship in 2016. He was dealt a blow, suffering an injury which kept him on the sidelines for some time, but demonstrated his willingness to bounce back. He cemented a regular place in the Gunners’ U23 side, scoring against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Liverpool and becoming a key player within that team. He also featured in EFL Trophy matches against Northampton Town, Cambridge United and Peterborough United.
He then decided not to take up Arsenal’s offer of a new contract, and moved on, spending time training with Clubs including Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
Woodman was delighted to welcome a player he knows well: “Nathan’s an exciting player who I worked with at Arsenal. He had a few injuries at the time but has come back strongly, and is showing everyone what he’s about.
He’s a quick, explosive player with bags of talent, and for us to get a player like him is fantastic and I think it shows people where we’re heading.”
Tormey was equally pleased to begin his next chapter: “I’m very happy to have signed for Bromley. Everyone has made me feel very welcome so far and I’m looking forward to being a part of the Club.”
